Merlina is a self-taught artist of Argentinian origin based in Barcelona. She discovered glass by chance after a trip to Asia where she decided to capture in it what her eyes see. A universe full of colours. Together with other artisans, she works with recycled glass, creating contemporary pieces that awaken your inner child.
I am a self-taught designer, I am very sensitive to colour and I love to combine and play with
them. I really came across design 3 years ago, where I realised that I really liked it and I wanted
to do something with it. There, together with the only glass artisan in my village, we started to
recreate the universe that my eyes could see and that's how my jewellery brand, Suplais, was
born.
As I said before, purely by chance.
I’ve always been very curious and followed my heart, I studied communication but I always liked
art internally.
I travelled around the world for many years and on a last trip to Asia, where I was inspired by its
flower and vegetable markets, I decided to create my first art project.
Nature is my great inspiration. The infinity of colours that you can find in fruits and vegetables.
Artists, I love Miranda Makaroff’s universe.
I work in a small oasis in the chaos of Barcelona.
I share the space with other creatives of the city where everyone has their own little universe.
My family who are far away, my best friends, I would have a dress code and I would make a set
design probably of fruits and vegetables. Food: all colours, quite a funky style.
I like books on personal development and self-knowledge and business. If I have to recommend
one: Supernatural by Joe Dispenza.

I am a Pisces and very Piscean, yes, I have always lived in a parallel universe, and I love it.
Although these last years, I am incarnating my earthly ascendant and I like this symbiosis.
